Candidate Statement

Students First. Good Governance Always.

Every student deserves a strong education, a safe and inclusive school, and the opportunity to thrive. As a Trustee, I pledge to prioritize literacy and student achievement, support teachers and staff, promote student safety and well-being, and advocate for transparency and accountability in district decision-making.

As a longtime communications professional and writer, I understand the power of literacy to change lives. As former Communications Director for Girls Inc. of Alameda County, supporting underserved girls and their families, I gained insight into challenges that can prevent young people from reaching their potential. Literacy will be a high priority, helping students develop the foundational skills they need to succeed throughout their education and beyond.

I will advocate for teachers and staff to have the training, resources, respect, and constructive labor relationships they need to succeed, while supporting responsible fiscal stewardship.
I will promote safe, welcoming schools that address bullying and ensure mandated training which supports inclusive learning environments.

As a Trustee, I will listen, ask questions, communicate clearly, and advocate for transparency and accountability. My focus will remain where it belongs: helping every student learn, feel safe, and thrive.
